In 2005, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (IME), the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) and the Mexico – United States Foundation for Science (FUMEC) created the project “Network of Mexican Talents Abroad” in order to contact the highly qualified Mexicans abroad and invite them to collaborate in the development of Mexico, following the successful model of countries such as China, India, New Zealand and Scotland. To date, these institutions continue to support and give great support to Global Network initiatives. However, the network is an independent body, with full autonomy and self-identity. To date there are more than 54 chapters of the Network around the World with more that over 6,500 Members on 25 countries.
